I've been trying to rest my drawing hand a bit for a couple of weeks (always good to do that once in a while) and needed something to occupy myself with. Something I could do with my left hand. So, last weekend I did whast I've been meaning to do for ages: I translated one of my very first comics!




That's right! Now you all get to see what kind of awfulness I drew when I was 15. Sure, the pages don't exactly represent my best work or anything, as I clearly remember drawing them with a "no sketching, no thinking"-mindset. But still. Yikes!

The story was also one of those "If I start here, and don't plan anything ahead, where will I end up?" -kind of things, so this is apparently how the storyteller in me worked. Enjoy 18 pages of secret agents, aliens and idiots. Lots and lots of idiots. And crappy art, but don't enjoy that.

That's right, I've finally decided to let go of a couple of my original watercolor/ink paintings instead of keeping them stored in fancy black folders under my bed for all eternity *cough* hoarder-alert * cough*. After all, art should be enjoyed and looked at, and I'm not performing any of those two tasks myself here. So what the hey.

The pieces in question are "Shipcatville" and a more recent one, "Heading south". Both are about the size of a standard A3, give or take, and are priced at 250$ on ebay:

On a completely different note, I've found yet another woderful show to add to my humogous list of american sitcoms I love and always shall love; Raising Hope! The completely dysfunctional, yet surprisingly functional family - formula works on me every time, and this one turned out to be particularly heart-warming. Just wanted to share my joy over this lettle pearl, and recommend it to fellow sitcom-enjoyers. (And it's got no annoying laughing track either! Score!)
  But nothing beats "Parks and Recreation" in my book, no sir.

Whooppee, it's Christmas holidays again! *dances and skips* No wait, that's not me. This is me: "Oh, so it's Christmas again. Great, now I get to sleep."
That's right, I've finally reached the end station of the magical train ride into grumpy, cynical lady-town.
Ah, what a joy it was back in the days when this time of year made me go " Yaaay! Family, candy, food, colorful lights and so much STUFF!", then the phase of" Yaay, candy!". Now it's just "Yaay, no school."
(Not that I don't love my school, mind you, I just don't love being there as much as I love not.) being there´.

Aaanyway, I did have a little Christmas present for you guys: ten new pages of "A Redtail's dream". Yup, my page buffert became a bit bloated again, though I would slim it down by posting a whole chunk of pages in one sitting.

Finally! I haven't made any new tutorials in such a long while, whew! But I think I'll be doing a few during the upcoming year. I've got a whole bunch of great ideas from you guys, and I finally feel like I have the necessary skills to make a couple of those tutorials.

I'll upload the Water Tutorial here on DA too some day, but I've got to wrap it up in a neatly designed little package first, and I have absolutely no inspiration for that right now. It would just end up as something un-inspired and bloopy. Eh, it still might end up as something bloopy , but a little bit of  inspiration would be nice anyways.

Critiques are, of course, welcome in case there's something blurghish going on with the tutorial. Helps me make better tutorials in the future. :3

By the by, I bought the worst bag of candy ever a couple of days ago! It's so bad that I still haven't managed to finish it and I'm so disgruntled that I'm actually writing about it here, urrgh. Wine gums with natural flavor, my ass... sure, if the flavor they used was monkey bile.
I think I'll just stick with my two Swedish sweet-hearts from now on: Ahlgrens Bilar and Jordgubbs-Snören! Man, some times I feel like my motto is "never try anything new". Talk about lamest motto ever...
