So, notice any improvement in the backgrounds on this page? If you do, it's because this is the point where I got my Cintiq a few months ago, wheee! The time spent on each panelhas stayed more or less the same, but since my painting speed has gone way up I've been able to paint much nicer backrounds since that. Of course there are some occasional lazy-looking pages in between, but overall the coloring will be better from this point onward. I'm coloring page 190 right now (yes, I have an insane amount of finished pages just waiting to be published o_o) and Im pretty much at peace with what I've got going on so far.

I like the backgrounds in this.

They add to focal point without distracting from them, which I think makes for an ideal background.

If animals could talk... they'd probably be annoying. ;)

do you know about how many hours you spend working on each page?

Yeah, the average is about 7-8 hours, pretty equally distributed between coloring and linearting. Some pages I've managed to do in less than six hours, other have taken well over ten. :3

This is certainly an impressive display of growth in your work and showing that you have found your calling in the form of a webcomic. What's more it seems that you have developed your own unique style that really expressive a sense of character and personality in what you've designed and displayed in the pages. There is a sense of flavour in the expressions and the way you've worked with the body of the guy in the boat and smirk within the bird certainly bring the whole page a sense of animation, indicating that you have created awareness much more in the defining of a character, thinking much more about their personality, who they would interact with another and within the setting as well. Seeing that with your illustrative style really makes this page come to life and shows us that this is certainly where your talents are. You seem to understand how to tell a story and how to approach the setting with good angles and build up the interaction with those displayed, not only that, but the mild and warm palette of colours certainly help express the atmosphere of this page much more. The colours aren't imposing nor overpower, but give enough to the theme of weather and to the characters well. It's a good example that you have really understood all aspect when creating a page and seeing how colour can certainly effect the appeal of the story itself.

It's certainly a big step up man and a real display of what your capable of and how you can really bring across the energy as a illustrative story teller.

I am really flattered by your comment, it is not often one receives such lengthy, well thought out feedback. And now I'm blushing a bit. =^^=
