~ ...is not so secret anymore. But the question remains; what is actually going on behyind that door. Will the nosy, spying critters of the woods finally find out the ancient secrets of the scheming squirrels? ~

Clearly, I'm in my most productive state whenever I'm being isolated from modern society and the consuming addictiveness of the internet. Drawn last weekend while I was at our "summer"-place (it's definitely not summer anymore, temperature's dropping below freezing during night already, brrr! x_x) ,and having no electricity is a real blessing some times.

Watercolors and black ink on 50x30cm watercolor paper.

This reminds me of the Redwall series, if they had illustrations you should definitely be the one to do it. Your pictures have such a good sense of storytelling, they could only enhance the story being told.

Loving this so much!

The use of characters and bushes/nature foliage as a framing element works wonders for your composition! You have a pathway leading to your character, guiding our eye. And what's better? You have many many side characters looking at the focal point! A sure win to guide your audience! Bravo sir!

The rendering of the characters are very soft - adorable to say the least, with a very clear silhouette. Very readable, very well done - some of the textures look like a huge pain!

My one only complaint for this piece would be your value placement. I'd say over all, this image is looking about 1/2 light, and 1/2 dark. Try to stick with the 3rds rule - this will give our eye a dominant focus. I'd suggest bringing the values of the side characters in the foreground and background much darker. Particularly like the rat on the far right. This will make the side characters not as distracting, and even further enhance the images composition.

Lovely image over all <3!
